UPDATE: Young woman killed in collision on Emancipation Avenue

HOUSTON, TX – A young woman was killed in the fatal collision that took place on Emancipation Avenue on Saturday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
A 25-year-old woman was driving a red Kia Optima on Emancipation Avenue and ran a red light near the Gray Street intersection around 10:40 a.m. The Kia was then hit by a white GMC Sierra. After the collision, the Kia came to rest in a nearby grassy area.
The victim, the 25-year-old woman, later died at a nearby hospital.
No charges have been filed at this time.
