Lisa Yarrow
The main focus of Lisa Yarrow’s near thirty-year career as a lawyer has been on litigation. She has been involved in all aspects of litigation covering multiple areas of law but has found her real passion to be in helping people. She prides herself on her deep commitment to her clients as well as her relentless advocacy to ensure that their rights are vindicated. She credits her upbringing for instilling within her an unshakeable desire to give back to those in their time of and to help her clients navigate the challenges of the litigation process to a successful resolution.
Lisa grew up in Kaneohe, Oahu, attending Hawaii Baptist Academy. She received her B.A. from Texas A&M University in 1992 and her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1996. After graduating from law school as valedictorian of her law school class, Lisa clerked for the Honorable Vanessa D. Gilmore, District Court Judge for the Southern District of Texas. She next worked as an associate at Baker Botts, LLP, representing corporate clients such as Reliant Energy HL&P, Ford Motor Company, and Mattel. During that time, Lisa discovered her passion to help people. She switched careers and began teaching at the University of Houston, working with students to help them live their dreams of becoming lawyers. She also continued to practice, representing individuals pursuing claims of all kinds, from breach of contract and personal injury to divorce and evictions.
She is currently an Associate Professor of Law and Assistant Dean of Bar Readiness at South Texas College of Law. Most recently, Lisa achieved her dream of “coming home,” earning her license to practice law in Hawaii in November 2021.
