UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal wreck on the Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has released a press release regarding the fatal wreck that took place on the Gulf Freeway Tuesday afternoon.

The press release states that the 73-year-old driver of a black Hyundai Accent was traveling at a high rate of speed near the highway’s 17300 block when she hit the back of a tractor-trailer. The woman was taken to Healthcare Clear Lake where she was declared deceased.

Her identity has not been released.
