UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal pedestrian crash on the Katy Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release regarding the fatal pedestrian crash that took place on the Katy Freeway on Friday, March 26.
According to the press release, the victim, a 65-year-old man, was checking in on a separate crash in the freeway’s wooded median. He was then walking in the freeway’s service road when he was struck by an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed.
