UPDATE: Bicyclist fatally hit by semi driver in Houston’s Northside

HOUSTON, TX — A 65-year-old man was killed Friday when he was hit by a Freightliner semi-truck while riding a bicycle in Houston’s Northside/Northline area, reports LMTonline.

The incident occurred near the 200 block of East Little York Road at around 12:18 p.m.

Houston police said the semi-truck was turning onto East Little York Road from Northline Drive when it collided with a cyclist heading southbound on East Little York.

First responders confirmed the victim died from his injuries at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the truck cooperated with an investigation but was eventually released.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division.
