HOUSTON, TX – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash on Bellfort Avenue in southeast Houston that left a pedestrian dead on Friday night, according to KHOU.
The collision occurred at around 8:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of Bellfort Ave near Nunn Street, when a man reportedly ran across the street.
He was then hit by the driver of a Nissan Sentra who drove about a block away from the crash before fleeing the scene on foot.
The victim, who was described only as an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An occupant of the vehicle, described only as a woman, is then said to have driven the car away. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in a residential area with visible blood as well as damage to the windshield.
