Motorcyclist seriously hurt after crashing into pickup making U-turn in Katy

KATY, TX – A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after colliding with a pickup truck in Katy last night, according to KHOU.
The accident occurred in the 19500 block of Clay Road at about 8:30 p.m., when the driver of a pickup truck was reportedly leaving a parking lot and trying to make a U-turn at the nearby intersection.
A motorcyclist attempted to slow down to avoid hitting the truck, but was unable to avoid a collision, and struck the left side of the truck.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
The other driver was not immediately reported as injured.
At this time, authorities do not believe that speed or drunk driving played a role in the accident, though their investigation continues at this time.
