Man dead after being hit by car while crossing Clearwood Dr in SE Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a car while crossing the street in southeast Houston last night, according to information from KHOU.
The collision happened in the 9000 block of Clearwood Drive, west of the Gulf Freeway, at about 8 p.m., as the victim was walking either to a bus stop or a nearby convenience store. He was then struck by the driver of a white pickup truck, who may not have been using their headlights at the time.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead after the crash.
The driver remained at the scene and is not thought to have been under the influence when the accident happened.
