Fiery crash on Katy Freeway sends 2 to hospital

HOUSTON, TX – Firefighters had to extricate two people from a fiery crash on the Katy Freeway early this morning.

Click 2 Houston reports that the accident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. on Monday, May 11, in the 11600 block of the Katy Freeway near its intersection with Kirkwood Road. Two people were trapped in an overturned silver sedan which had caught fire, and had to be pulled out by emergency responders. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and their condition is currently unknown.

The accident shut down traffic until the wreck was cleared.
