Driver dies after crashing into tree on Barker Cypress Road

HOUSTON, TX – A driver died after crashing into a tree on Barker Cypress Road on the evening of Tuesday, December 22, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Authorities say Camilo R. Acebal was driving near 3600 Barker Cypress Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and struck a concrete curb, eventually driving onto the center median. He then hit a tree located in the median.

Acebal was rushed to the hospital via LifeFlight with serious bodily injuries. Unfortunately, he did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
