HOUSTON, TX – A driver was killed and his daughter was severely injured in a crash on Highway 6 late Saturday night, according to information from KHOU.
The crash happened in the 13300 block of Highway 6 N, near Copper Grove Boulevard at 10:50 p.m., when the driver of a Toyota Sienna minivan drove over the median and into the lanes of oncoming traffic.
There, he sideswiped a Ford F-150 pickup truck, causing the driver of the pickup to head into the opposite lanes in an attempt to evade. The pickup nearly crashed into a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, prompting the driver of the Chevrolet to make an evasive maneuver. The Colorado then went into the opposite lanes of traffic, where it crashed into the Sienna.
The driver of the Sienna died at the scene.
His daughter was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she is expected to survive her injuries.
The driver of the F-150 and two occupants of the Colorado were hospitalized after suffering minor wounds.
Authorities do not yet know if intoxicated driving played a role in the crash, though they found that the drivers of the Colorado and the F-150 were both sober.
The investigation continues at this time.
