Father crashes after gunman opens fire on family pickup

HOUSTON, TX – A father crashed his truck after a gunman opened fire on his vehicle in northeast Houston on Sunday night, KHOU 11 reports.
The family approached a red light at Parker when a sedan pulled up. An individual in the sedan took out a weapon and began shooting at the family’s vehicle. The driver of the truck, 19-year-old Luis Balthazar, was struck in the head and crashed the car. His girlfriend and child were also in the car at the time but were not injured.
The suspect fled the scene and Balthazar was rushed to the hospital for surgery. His current condition is not known at this time.
