One person killed in late-night car accident on Northwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed in a collision on the Northwest Freeway late last night, according to the Houston Police Department.

The accident happened on outbound US-290 (Northwest Freeway), near Fairbanks North Houston Road, before 11:55 p.m., when a single vehicle crashed.
One person was taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Their identity and the cause of the crash are not available at this time.
Authorities closed the freeway in response to the accident.
