One dead in fatal hit-and-run accident on Beechnut Road

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took place on Beechnut Road on the evening of Friday, February 12, per the Houston Police Department.
A 58-year-old man was attempting to cross the street near 9900 Beechnut Street when he was hit by a truck of an unknown make and model. The victim was reportedly not using a crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Instead of stopping at the scene, the driver fled without attempting to render aid to the victim. Emergency responders rushed the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he died of his injuries.
