16-year-old killed, 18-year-old injured in crash on Buffalo Speedway

HOUSTON, TX – A teenage passenger was killed and the 18-year-old driver was injured in a collision on Buffalo Speedway in southeast Houston last night, according to KTRK.
The crash occurred at around 6:40 p.m. near Darlinghurst Drive in the 13900 block of Buffalo Speedway. When the driver of a Dodge Cobalt attempted to drive across Buffalo Speedway, it was hit by the 18-year-old driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The crash sent the pickup into the trees in the median.
A 16-year-old passenger in the Ram was pronounced dead as a result of the accident.
Her 18-year-old driver was injured in the collision.
It is unclear if the other driver was hurt in the crash.
