SPRING, TX – A wrong-way driver is in critical condition following a fatal wreck on the Grand Parkway that killed another motorist early Saturday morning, according to the team at KHOU 11.
The incident occurred near the Riley Fuzzell Road exit. A white SUV was traveling westbound in the highway’s eastbound lanes when it slammed into a car head-on, fatally injuring the other driver. A Fed-Ex semi truck driving behind the car crashed into an engine block left in the road from the first crash.
The truck driver then lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a center lane cable barrier, partially overturned, and spilled cargo onto the roadway.
Authorities report that the wrong-way driver is in critical condition.
