FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – A woman has been sentenced for her role in a fatal June 2019 hit-and-run accident, according to KHOU 11.
Authorities say Angela Nicole Smith was driving on Bissonnet Street when she ran a stop sign at Hodges Bend, striking an 8-year-old girl that was crossing the street with her relatives. The young girl was thrown into the area yet Smith did not stop. The victim died two years later.
Smith continued driving and was involved in another crash 20 minutes later. She was eventually arrested by authorities for her connection in the hit and run. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
