HOUSTON, TX – A woman lost her arm, and three others were injured in an accident possibly related to street racing that happened last night.
KHOU reports that the accident happened on Southwest Freeway near South Gessner Road and involved a silver Camaro that had possibly been hit by another car.
The Camaro traveled off the road and into construction equipment beside the roadway.
Two men and two women were inside the Camaro whenever it crashed. They all were injured, with one of the women losing an arm, but their injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
Authorities found alcohol inside the vehicle, and after hearing a witness report, police suspect the Camaro might have been racing another car prior to the accident. Police are investigating a possible DWI in connection with the incident. The group reportedly left a bar before getting into the vehicle.
There is no information available on the identity of the victims.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident at this time.
