Woman killed while walking across South Beltway feeder road

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed while walking across a South Beltway feeder road this morning, ABC 13 reports.

Authorities say a 28-year-old woman was crossing near 9000 South Sam Houston Parkway around 4:45 a.m. While walking across the road, she was hit by a GMC Sierra pickup truck. After the initial collision, the GMC swerved and hit a nearby tractor-trailer.

The driver of the GMC remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Intoxication was determined to not have contributed to the accident.
