Woman killed in early-morning accident while trying to cross freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was hit by a vehicle early this morning when she tried to cross the 610 West Loop Freeway on foot, according to a report from KHOU.
The accident happened around 3 a.m. near 610 West Loop and West Alabama Street.
According to a police report, the victim had just gotten out of a rideshare car when she went to cross the freeway and was hit by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle then pulled over to call emergency services.
The rideshare driver also attempted to help the victim. However, the victim was already dead when emergency crews arrived.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
