Woman killed in 2-vehicle, rear-end crash on Eastex Fwy

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed Friday in a two-vehicle collision in North Houston that brought traffic on I-69/US 59 to a standstill, KHOU reports.
The fatal incident took place sometime around noon in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Quitman Street when a woman suddenly braked and swerved in front of a pickup truck, which subsequently rear-ended her vehicle. Police believe she may have suffered a medical episode while at the wheel.
The woman was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The pickup’s driver was unhurt and cooperated with police at the scene.
Traffic in the area was blocked for some time following the crash but had been restored by 4 p.m.
