HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed after her vehicle became stuck underneath a trailer on the East Freeway this afternoon, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim, Miranda Jasso, was driving a gray Honda near the 14100 block of the East Freeway around 1:35 p.m.. She failed to control the speed of her vehicle and hit a nearby silver Ford Mustang. The force of the initial collision caused Jasso to hit a trailer driven by Luis Aguilar-Garcia.

The vehicle became trapped underneath the trailer and caught on fire. The driver, Aguilar-Garcia, rescued the victim from her vehicle but she was declared dead at the scene.

The Ford Mustang involved in the first crash did not remain at the scene.
