Woman in wheelchair hit and killed while crossing Westheimer Road

HOUSTON, TX – A woman in a wheelchair was tragically hit and killed by a vehicle while crossing Westheimer Road on Monday morning, according to the team at ABC 13.
The woman was attempted to cross at Westheimer Road and Dunvale when she was hit by a passing vehicle. She was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders.
The driver involved remained at the scene of the crash. He told authorities that he had a green light and did not see the victim. Police say he did not show any signs of intoxication.
Investigators are working to determine whether or not the woman was using the designated crosswalk.
