Woman fatally struck by DWI driver while lying in NE Houston road

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in northeast Houston late Sunday night.
According to a report by Fox 29 San Antonio, the incident occurred along Homestead Street, near Peyton Road at about 11:30 p.m.
Police say the couple was in an argument prior to the crash, causing the woman to get out of her vehicle and lay down in the roadway. She was then struck by an oncoming Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup was arrested after showing signs of intoxication at the scene.
