Woman dies in suspected DUI wreck on the East Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman died in a suspected DUI wreck on the East Freeway on Wednesday evening, according to the team at ABC 13.

The victim was a passenger in the car of an impaired man that was speeding in the freeway’s westbound lanes near Wayside. He then clipped another vehicle, which led his car to flip across multiple lanes of traffic before slamming into the highway’s dividing wall.

The unidentified woman was killed upon impact. The driver in the car that was clipped suffered minor injuries while the suspected impaired driver has been taken into custody.
