Woman dies in fatal collision on the Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman died in a fatal collision on the Southwest Freeway on the night of Friday, January 22, the Houston Police Department reports.
According to witnesses, a blue Honda Civic involved in an earlier accident and then stopped in an unprotected median between the Southwest Freeway and the West Loop. The victim, driving a blue Jeep Liberty, then collided with the Honda Civic.
The driver of the Jeep, a 47-year-old woman, was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead. The condition of the Honda, a 19-year-old woman, is unknown.
