HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A woman was killed late Saturday night in a two-vehicle accident on Beltway 8 near Humble, reports KHOU11.
The incident took place on the eastbound freeway approaching Mesa Road shortly before midnight.
Houston Police said the woman and a male occupant were in a silver Lincoln MKX when their vehicle failed to maintain its lane and struck a barrier, causing the car to roll over multiple times.
The woman was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was hit by a Toyota Avalon on the roadway.
Authorities confirmed she died on the scene.
Investigators learned both occupants had been drinking at a bar in Midtown Houston, and that neither occupant was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
It was not immediately clear whether or not the male occupant was injured, or who was driving at the time.
An investigation was underway.
