Woman dies after crashing into sign near Elgin Street

HOUSTON, TX – A woman died after crashing into a sign near Elgin Street on the morning of Saturday, March 13, the Houston Police Department reports.

Authorities say that the unidentified woman was driving near 3000 Elgin Street, at a high rate of speed, when she lost control of her car and slammed into a nearby gas station sign. She was declared dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
