Woman dies after car is hit by Amtrak train

HOUSTON, TX – A woman died after a car she was in was hit by an Amtrak train on Wednesday, according to ABC 13.

Brittnie Green was traveling northbound on Sheldon Road in a BMW X3 when she went into the road’s southbound lanes to get around two vehicles stopped for railroad crossing arms. The arms were reportedly in a down position when Green crossed onto the railroad tracks.

Green and passenger Rhonda Clay were struck by a passing Amtrak train. She had just given birth to a child at the hospital, her family says.

Green has been charged with manslaughter.
