HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A woman and her young child were able to safely escape a burning vehicle this past Saturday afternoon in Spring, reports KHOU11.
Spring Fire Department said crews responded to the scene on Aldine Westfield Road at around 4:00 p.m.
Footage captured at the scene shows the woman driving for nearly a mile before pulling over after realizing her car had caught fire. The woman is then seen emerging from the burning vehicle with a child passenger moments before it becomes fully engulfed in flames.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
The transmission light in the woman’s vehicle was said to have turned on moments before the fire started, leading authorities to believe a mechanical failure contributed to the blaze.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the remainder of the investigation will be handled by the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
