Woman charged in fatal drunk driving accident on the Eastex Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was charged in a fatal drunk driving accident that took place on the Eastex Freeway this morning, according to ABC 13.

51-year-old Cathy Ann Gilley was driving a Ford F-150 while intoxicated on the Eastex Freeway around 2 a.m. She then hit a car driven by a 75-year-old man near the Greens Road intersection. The man died at the scene.

Three children in the vehicle — the man’s grandchildren — were in the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.

Gilley has since been charged with murder.
