A single-vehicle accident occurred on Texas 101, just north of County Road 1590, near Park Springs on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 that resulted in one death.
Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Sgt. Ricky Hunter reported that around 8:30 a.m., a 2001 Dodge flatbed pickup was heading south on Texas 101 when the driver ran off the road into a culvert on the roadway’s west side. There was an estimated 20-foot drop into the culvert. The driver, who was identified as 23-year-old Sunset resident Joshua C. Woods, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unfortunate to hear of the passing of Joshua C. Woods, and it’s even more unfortunate to realize that he isn’t the first victim of car accidents. Car accidents happen quite often in this day and age. According to the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA), car accidents happen almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, a car accident occurs that results in death. This can be translated to roughly about 6 million car accidents every year and 90 people dying in car accidents every day in the U.S. alone.
If you are a victim of a car accident, or you know someone who is, or you lost a loved one because of this type of crash, then please never hesitate to reach out for help. The police will be there for you, but more than that, car accident attorneys are also present to help you protect your rights and get you the justice that you deserve.
