Wichita Falls – Vernon Woman Killed in Hwy 114 Crash

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a vehicle accident on Highway 114 near Farm to Market Road 1790 last Thursday, September 26.
According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 114 near the FM 1790 intersection. A vehicle had been traveling along the westbound lanes of the highway when it made an unsafe U-turn in front of Hangrove and collided with another car that was heading west. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to spin into a ditch and crashed into a pole. The second vehicle burst into flames as a result of the crash. Based on a preliminary investigation, the first car missed its turn on FM 1790 before it made a U-turn.
The driver of the second vehicle, identified only as a 25-year-old Seymour male driver, was rushed to Seymour Hospital with significant injuries. Meanwhile, the first driver, identified as 35-year-old Vernon woman, died on scene. She was pronounced deceased by first responders.
