Weslaco – Rollover Collision on 34th St Leaves One Dead

A 27-year-old man was killed in a fatal rollover accident on 34th Street in Weslaco, Saturday evening.
At around 11:40 p.m., local troopers were requested on 34th St near Hopper Road to assist in a collision involving one vehicle. According to the report, a Chevrolet Silverado had been traveling along the westbound lane of the road when it left the roadway and landed on a drainage ditch. The driver of the vehicle attempted to overcorrect but ended up losing control of the car. A preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed prior to the crash.
The impact of the crash severely injured the driver, who was identified only as a 27-year-old Weslaco man. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
No one else was injured.
The Weslaco Police Department is investigating the incident.
