Waxahachie—Victim of U.S. 287 Crash ID’d

The Waxahachie Police Department has released the identification of the female victim who died in a car accident on US Highway 287 last Thursday morning, police said.
The fatality was identified as 63-year-old Marie Chambers. She was one of the drivers involved in the wreck.
According to initial reports, the said crash took place on US 287 near Pigg Road. Marie Chambers was driving a silver 2016 Toyota Corolla along the northbound lanes of Pigg Road when she drifted onto the right lane of 287 where it collided with a white Ford E-250 utility van. The Ford struck the driver’s side of Chamber’s vehicle, pushing both vehicles onto the center median.
The impact of the collision left both drivers with serious injuries. They were rushed to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center where Chambers was declared deceased. Another victim was injured but his identification was not immediately released.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
