A student was killed after getting by a car on Buller Road in rural Waller County, last week, Tuesday.
Just before 7:00 p.m., a crash was reported at the intersection of Buller Road near Zadelsky Road. A 2000 Chrysler Voyager was traveling along the roadway when it struck a bicycle heading in the same direction. The impact instantly killed the bicyclist who was identified only as a 16-year-old Royal ISD student. Instead of rendering aid to the victim, the driver of the Chrysler sped off even before authorities arrived at the scene. He was later identified as 31-year-old Daniel Griffin of Brookshire. Griffin was later arrested for failure to stop and render aid at an accident.
No one else was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
