Waco–Pedestrian Collision on Bellmead Kills Ethel Rojas

Authorities have released the name of the pedestrian who died in a collision with a car on Bellmead Drive last January 26.
Waco police identified the victim as Ethel Rojas. She was a resident of Waco.
The fatal accident took place at around 11:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Bellmead Drive. Rojas was attempting to cross the road near a convenience store when she was hit by a vehicle heading west. The said vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old driver and a teenage passenger.
Rojas was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. However, she later succumbed to her injuries at a later time.
The suspect driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigations.
No charges have been made. The case remains under investigation with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
