Waco – Hit-and-Run Crash on 26th Street Leaves 1 Dead

A pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a car on North 26th Street, Tuesday.
According to the initial report, the incident took place at the 700 block of North 26th Street. A man was walking in the area when an undescribed vehicle struck him. When local paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian lying on the ground with serious injuries. First responders administered life-saving measures on the victim and rushed him to the nearest hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. His identification was withheld pending notification to his next of kin.
No other injuries were reported at this time.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene even before the police arrived. His identification and the whereabouts of the vehicle involved have yet to be determined by the Waco Police Department.
