Voss – Curtis Shipman Died in Fatal Rollover Accident on FM 1929

The 58-year-old man who died after a deadly solo-car accident on Farm to Market Road 1929 has been identified by local authorities, according to a local news source.
The victim is Curtis Darrell Shipman, 58, of Paint Rock.
Police said the incident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Monday, 11 miles south of Voss, along the southbound lane of FM 1929. Shipman was driving a Ford F-250 pickup truck along the roadway when it drifted to the right hand shoulder of the road to avoid a passing deer. When he tried to go back up the road, the truck then went into a side skid and overturned.
Shipman was ejected from the vehicle as it overturns. He was not wearing a seat belt.
A passenger in the pickup truck, identified as Wanda Elaine Shipman, female, 64, of Paint Rock, was rushed to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo with critical injuries. Her condition was not immediately disclosed.
An investigation to the crash is underway.
