Victoria – Three Injured in Car Accident on Houston Hwy

Three people were sent to the hospital following a drunk driving collision on Houston Highway in Victoria, Monday.
At approximately 1:20 a.m., police responded to the 2700 block of Houston Hwy to assist victims of a crash involving a car. Based on the initial investigation, a vehicle was traveling along the highway when it went out of control and crashed into a utility pole. Three occupants of the vehicle sustained various injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their condition was not disclosed at this time.
Authorities later identified 18-year-old Justin Lopez and 20-year-old Johnny Lopez as passengers of the wrecked vehicle. Meanwhile, the driver was only identified as a 19-year-old male. He was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
