Victoria – Several Injured on State Highway 111

A three-vehicle crash on State Highway 111 sent ten people to a hospital, Saturday afternoon.
At around 4:00 p.m., police officers responded to the intersection of State Highway 111 and Highway 172 in Jackson County. Based on a preliminary investigation, a Ford van was traveling along the southbound lanes of SH 172 when it failed to yield to a stop sign and crashed into an eastbound Dodge pickup truck occupied by two people. The van then collided with a red Toyota pickup truck that was waiting for a green light in the northbound lane.
A total of ten people were hurt from the force of the impact. Three child passengers were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital with serious injuries while four more children were transported via ambulance to DeTar Hospital Navarro. Their condition was not immediately disclosed.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation. No citations have been issued at this time.
