Victoria – Multi-Vehicle Crash on US 59 Leaves 5 Killed, Injured 7

A fatal major car accident on US 59 took five lives and injured seven in South Texas, Saturday morning.
The Department of Public Safety said that the incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. when a van traveling along the northbound lanes of US 59, struck the left side of a semi that was pulling a flatbed trailer, also heading north. The van then crossed the center line and crashed into a pickup truck that was heading south.
The driver of the van, identified only as a woman, and her passengers–two males and two children–was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene. Meanwhile, the remaining passengers in the van sustained injuries. Their condition was not determined.
The pickup driver was rushed to a hospital along with his passenger. They sustained serious injuries but were listed in stable condition.
No identification has been released at this time.
