Victoria – Motorcycle vs Tractor-Trailer Collision on US 59

Victoria County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace officials are investigating a motorcycle accident that took the life of one person on US 59, Monday night.
According to initial reports, the collision took place at around 9:45 p.m. A 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling along the highway when, for reasons that had not been determined, it struck the rear side of a tractor-trailer as it approaches Amhurst Street. Police said that both vehicles were heading south.
The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 34-year-old Victoria man, Jose Luis Garcia. No information about the driver of the tractor-trailer was released at this time.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. It is believed that speed may have played a role in the incident.
