Vehicle split in half, woman in critical condition following Conroe crash

CONROE, TX – A woman sustained severe injuries during a car accident that split her vehicle into two halves in Conroe this morning, according to the Montgomery County Police Reporter.
The accident occurred on Old Houston Road, near Stevenson Drive, before 8:30 a.m.., when the driver of a white 2002 Mercury went off the side of the roadway while traveling at a high speed.
The driver, who has yet to be publicly identified, then swerved back onto the roadway. Due to wet conditions on the roadway, she skid into the left lane, and into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.
The truck, a black Dodge 3500, and the sedan collided, ripping the Mercury into two pieces.
The female driver of the Mercury was taken to the hospital in the Woodlands for the treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not reported as hurt.
