HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A van caught fire late Sunday night, causing heavy damage to a well-known auto repair shop in east Humble, according to KHOU11.
The Atascocita Fire Department said crews responded to the scene at Slater’s Auto Works, located at 5786 Farm-to-Market Road 1960, shortly after 10:40 p.m.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke wafting out of the building. After forcing their way in, crews discovered a van covered in flames that were also spreading to the structure’s roof and storage unit.
Authorities said the van appeared to have been worked on hours prior to the incident.
The business was closed and the vehicle unattended at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
