Vehicle fire blocks two lanes on North Fwy near Independence Heights

HOUSTON, TX — A car fire Monday morning closed at least two lanes on the North Freeway in north Houston’s Independence Heights area, reports Click2Houston.

The flames broke out in the outbound freeway near Airline Drive at around 8:50 a.m.

It was unclear what led up to the incident, but emergency crews were seen responding to the scene after a black Nissan Altima caught fire on the right shoulder.

No information has been released on any significant injuries.
