At least two people were pronounced deceased following a deadly car accident on State Highway 19 in Van Zandt County last Friday.
The fatalities were identified as 37-year-old Sandy Reed and 46-year-old Kesha Ivey. They are both from Sulphur Springs.
According to initial reports, Reed and her passenger, Kesha Ivey, were in a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling along the southbound lane of Hwy 19 when, for yet unknown reasons, it drifted into the opposing lanes and struck a Mitsubishi Endeavor. The impact of the crash sent the Mitsubishi crashing into a ditch.
The force of the impact killed both Reed and Ivey. Meanwhile, two children inside the Mitsubishi were transported to Cook’s Children’s Hospital in Dallas with unknown injuries. They were only identified as 9-year-old and 14-year-old passengers.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
