Upton County—Ronald Rincon Dies from Accident on State Highway 349

Authorities have identified the victim who died in a car accident on State Highway 349 last Tuesday.
The victim has been named as 55-year-old Ronald Rincon. He was a San Antonio resident.
Police officers responded to SH 349 eight miles north of Rankin after a receiving a call just after 2:00 p.m. According to initial reports, a 2018 GMC Sierra was traveling along the northbound lanes of the highway when a 2015 Ford F-250 pickup truck veered onto its path causing a collision. Preliminary investigation shows that the pickup truck failed to stay on its lane which prompted the crash.
The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Ronald Rincon. The pickup truck driver was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. He was identified as Carlton Carter, a 51-year-old Odessa resident.
No charges have been filed.
