UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in collision near Latham Street

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was tragically killed in the collision that took place near Latham Street yesterday night, KHOU 11 reports.
The victim was reportedly attempting to cross Harrisburg Boulevard at Latham Street when he was struck by an oncoming Chevrolet Corvette. Authorities say the victim, an unidentified adult male, was using a crosswalk and the driver was likely traveling at a high rate of speed.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Authorities do not believe they were intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
