UPDATE: HPD issues press release regarding fatal accident on Beltway 8

HOUSTON, TX – Officers at the Houston Police Department issued a press release regarding a fatal accident that took place on Beltway 8 yesterday morning.
A 25-year-old was driving a black Ford F-350 pickup truck near 3700 North Sam Houston Parkway East when he ran a red light near the JFK Boulevard intersection around 5:50 a.m. His vehicle then hit a Nissan Sentra, sending it crashing into several signs and a Ford Expedition.
The driver of the Nissan, a 51-year-old man, died at the scene. The driver of the Ford Expedition sustained only minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was released at the scene.
